The Master’s programme in Spatial Planning at the Radboud University is a one-year study programme (60 ECs) that can be done either full time or in dual mode. The Master’s programme in Spatial Planning offers four specialisations: Cities, Water and Climate Change; European Spatial and Environmental Planning; Planning, Land and Real Estate Development and Urban and Regional Mobility. Alternatively, students can opt for the flexible specialisation, which after completion of the core course programme offers the opportunity to make an own combination of courses from a list of relevant electives. The Master’s programme prepares the next generation of spatial planners to take on the role as managers of on-going and future spatial transformations in cities and regions, think of: regenerating shopping districts or old industrial sites; designating water retention areas; shaping urban mobility concepts for the future. Related challenges vary in scale, from individual property to European policy making. In this programme, students develop a good understanding of planning and forms of practices. Required smart and sustainable solutions for current planning problems are generated in multi-actor settings responding to and working with different stakeholders.
